The Government Announced the Result of the Election/ First Protest against the Result |
|
When the government announced Ahmadinejad as the winner of the election, people started to protest, first in Tehran and then in other cities. At the same time, other candidates started to do interviews and ask the authorities to investigate the election results. The level of disbelief soared in a way that some called it a coup at the time. Since the first hours of protests’ formation, military forces such as Basij and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard cracked down on the protesters. |
